Progressive and Photochromic or Transition lenses will progressively darken outside in sunlight almost as sunglasses and take a minute to transition to return clear indoor. Progressive (or Varifocal, multifocal) lenses are used for distance, intermediate and near vision simultaneously. They have a no-line three fields of focal correction with the top portion for distance-vision, narrowing to the lower middle for mid-range vision and finally to the bottom portion for the near-vision or reading. The total lens height for a progressive lens must be at least 29-30 mm although we recommend a higher height for more comfortable vision. Free Form lenses are the fruit of the ultimate optics technology.
