Photochromic or Transition lenses will sensibly darken outside in sunlight almost as sunglasses and take a minute to transition back to clear state indoor. Progressive (or Varifocal, multifocal) lenses are used for distance, intermediate and near vision simultaneously. They have a no-line three fields of focal correction with the top portion for distance-vision, narrowing to the lower middle for mid-range vision and finally to the bottom portion for the near-vision or reading. They provide a very good protection against UVA rays. The total lens height for a progressive lens must be at least 29-30 mm although we recommend a higher height for more comfortable vision.
