Nowadays, about 90% of all eyeglasses are made in China. All of the major Italian eyeglasses companies have moved their prodution to China. 

Many of the glasses that are made in China are then shipped to Europe where a minimal amount of assembly and/or finishing work is done so that the glasses can receive the Made in Europe designation. 

Famous brands like Armani, Gucci, to name just a few, and other big fashion names are mostry made in China and finished in Europe. Eyeglasses made in U.S.A. are hard to find. As well as in UK.
